The program
is designed to provide specific phonological
support for a
balanced approach to teaching literacy in Spanish. The program consists
of 30 weekly units, presented sequentially.
|
|
|
Unit 1 focuses on
the five vowels of the Spanish language. Each of the remaining
units (Units 2-30) focuses on a
single consonant or consonant blend(s), its
family of syllables, and vocabulary and sentences
constructed from those syllables as well as from syllables presented in
prior units.
The 1,322 reproducible pages will
enable you to prepare:
- 30 Sets of Large Instructional
Syllable Cards (used to present the syllables and to build the
target sentences with the students);
- Student Sets of Syllable Cards
(for guided and/or independent practice at school and/or at home);
- Weekly Homework Sheets;
- Weekly Workbook Pages;
- 30 Sets of Flash Cards (for Unit
Vocabulary);
- Weekly Practice and Assessment
Instruments (two practice sheets and five forms of assessment from
which to choose, for Units 2-30);
- Tracking Sheets (to monitor
individual progress through the 128 steps of the program);
- 30 Bilingual Take-Home Books (in Spanish and English);
- Four Sets of a Spanish Phonics Game
(designed to reinforce skills; including masters for 132 unique
Game Boards—33 per set).
